We love the city. We do. But artists need space - mental and physical space - to experiment, create and hang out with each other. The Lakeifeld Yard is an old maintenance yard located on the Trent Severn Waterway that is ours to define and make what we want it to be. Art, film, music production studios, gallery, residencies, and social events made by artists for artists. And for anyone else who likes what we like.
The Lockpicker is the first feature film by celebrated filmmaker and media artist Randall Okita. Coming off an award-winning festival run, including winning the Canadian Screen Awards' John Dunning Discovery Award, The Lockpicker was released in theatres in select cities in summer, 2018.
Things I Can't Tell You
Things I Can't Tell You is a large-scale exhibition by media artist Randall Okita. Originally created for the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival, the exhibition has been shown, in part, at Massive at the Art Gallery of Ontario and at CAAMFest in San Francisco. In November 2018, the exhibition will be mounted at the Prince Takamodo Gallery in Tokyo, Japan.
Akin Collective is a Toronto-based arts organization that provides affordable studio space as well as arts-based programming ranging from career development workshops for professional artists to community engagement events. ReDefinery is working with Akin to help re-organize its operations through a time of significant growth.
